Passage: Romans 8:5-13 Speaker: Pastor Jon Kopp Series: Supernatural Living for Natural People

Length: 52 mins 26 secs Plays: 3038

Speaker: Jon Kopp - How many times have you prayed, “Father, please forgive me and help me not do this again?” Hundreds, probably. And, every time—God forgives. But we still pray--“Father, I’ve tried everything. Why is this so hard? Why can’t I get victory here?” We all want forgiveness, but we all also really want victory. We long for victory over our sin. We really hope that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Paul has good news for us this morning. In Romans 8:5-13, he gives us good news for defeated people. Good news for people hoping for victory that struggle finding it. Because spiritually speaking, an old dog can learn new tricks. The gospel says that we can change. We can have victory over sin. There is freedom from the law of sin and death. God can deliver us from our wretched body of sin and death. And that is very good news.
