Beatus - Favored by God

The Sermon on the Mount is found in Matthew 5-7. We are going to begin a short series from the opening verses in Matthew 5 that will take us through the end of the year. It is entitled “Beatus – favored by God” and called that because the section is often referred to as the “Beatitudes.” Perhaps your bible has a section heading with that word “Beatitude.” Now for a long time, I knew the word but didn’t know what it meant. The word comes from the Latin (beatus) which means well favored, approved, or blessed by God.
