City Ministry

Click Here for Zoom ClassIn this class we will explore what it looks like to live in the city, learn the city, and ultimately love the city. We will look into the strategic nature of urban ministry, and highlight the growing opportunities for the gospel in high population density environments. We will seek to expose some of the unique ingredients that make Salt Lake City what it is, and what contextualization looks like for reaching our community. We don’t want to be people who are merely in the city. Nor do we want to be people who are against the city. We are for the city and desire to see the gospel take root and transform Salt Lakers.

Click Here for Zoom ClassOne of the defining attributes of God throughout Scripture is his sovereignty. Habakkuk 1:5 says “Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.” God is control and has a plan that is far beyond anything we could imagine. He will see his goals accomplished. But what does that mean for us? How does God’s will define and confine our lives? It often seems like the one decision in front of you will either make or break your whole life. Is that true? Throughout the class we will learn what God’s will is for our lives, as well as the necessary steps to take to make choices that are God-centered and biblically informed.

OT Survey (Wisdom Books)

Click here for Zoom Class This is an introductory course to the Old Testament developing a framework for understanding the historical setting, context and biblical themes of each book of the Old Testament. This series will focus on wisdom literature and the major prophets, while also wrapping up the historical books. Course goals include placing the various books in the OT on a timeline relative to the History of Israel, understanding the historical setting of each book, understanding the context of each book: the writer, the recipients and the messages, and understanding the major biblical themes in each book while also identifying unifying themes.

We read it but for the most part it doesn’t make sense. Frustrated and confused, many of us give up and never learn to dig deeply into God’s Word. This 5-part series will help you be in your Bible in a meaningful way and learn the treasures God has for you there. You’ll learn to discover truths of God. How to remember them. How to apply them to your Christian walk. And how to share them. The series will cover: Misconceptions of what Bible study is. What to look for in your study. What tools to use and how to use them. The easy things to watch for and different ways of thinking about them, remembering them, and applying them to your Christian walk.
