Passage: Ecclesiastes 7:1-14 Speaker: Danny Brooks Series: Standalone Messages

Length: 52 mins 9 secs Plays: 207

Speaker: Danny Brooks - Have you ever thought, “It would have been better if I had not been born?” You are not alone. Many of us have had those very thoughts. We wrestle with the hard circumstances and difficult experiences of life and wonder "Why?" Why me? Why this? Why now? What's the point of living if things are always going to be this hard? At the end of Ecclesiastes 7, the Preacher calls us to "Consider the work of God: who can make straight what he has made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him." It's not only a sobering reminder that we are not sovereign over our days or the difficult circumstances, but God is! Like so many of us the author of Ecclesiastes is straining to see God's goodness and control in the crooked things around him. But again and again he returns to the goodness and sovereignty of God in all of life. It's there in front of us if we are willing to look with the eyes of faith and believe God's word.
