Speaker: Will Galkin - Throughout the book of Romans Paul defends the righteousness of God. Paul communicates that God is righteousness when he judges (Rom. 1:18, 32) or saves sinners (Rom. 3:26). In our specific passage the reader is reminded that they are not righteous in and of themselves (Rom. 3:10-18). They lack the moral capacity to save themselves and deserve the wrath of God. However, God can righteously redeem sinners because of the work of Jesus Christ’s substitutionary atonement accomplished on the cross.
