There's No Other God

Passage: Deuteronomy 4:1-40 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Relationship & Responsibility - Deuteronomy

Length: 51 mins 4 secs Plays: 201

Speaker: Lukus Counterman - With all the clamor and clutter of life, sometimes it’s hard to hear God’s voice. News stations, educational institutions, career advisors, friends and family all have a say, but unfortunately God gets tuned out. One author referred to it as the “gagging of God.” But lest we think it is a unique phenomenon, a quick glance at Deuteronomy shows us that the problem is not new. The Israelites were on border of Canaan and lots of voices were shouting into the microphone claiming airtime. But Moses spoke above the chaos and told the people to listen to the word of God. Isn’t that what we need to do today? We need to quiet the noise and listen to the still small voice. We need to clear some space and really pursue God. Such an endeavor will require rooting out all that threatens our relationship with the Lord, but the effort is worth it. There is none like the one true and living God. So, let’s faithfully pursue him together. May the Lord encourage us through his word and empower us by his Spirit.
